SES is a leader in the emerging field of greenhouse gas (GHG) offset verification. This work is an outgrowth of our experience with development and verification of voluntary environmental programs in the areas of agriculture and natural resources. SES combines the technical and auditing expertise needed to verify offsets in a consistent, scientifically-sound way.
One of the most important requirements for a verifier of GHG offsets is impartiality. SES is an independently-owned company with an unyielding commitment to impartiality. Click here to read SES’s formal statement on impartiality.
SES is an approved verifier for offsets registered on the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX). SES is currently pursuing accreditation for verification under International Standards ISO 14065 and 14064. After accreditation is attained, SES plans to verify offsets for other GHG programs including the Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS), The Climate Registry and The Climate Action Reserve.
SES conducts verification for the following project scopes:
- Agricultural Methane
- Agricultural Soil Carbon
- Renewable Energy
- Rangeland Soil Carbon
- Wastewater Methane
Since 2004, SES has verified millions of acres of cropland, pasture and rangeland in the U.S. In addition, SES has verified methane and renewable energy projects in 12 states. SES also has verified methane and renewable energy projects in Brazil, China, Colombia, Germany and India.
If you have projects that need verification, please contact Rob Dobson, for methane and renewable energy projects, or Patrick Splichal, for soil and rangeland projects, at 1-800-897-1163.
