Good Environmental Livestock
Production Practices
Training Opportunities
The standards developer has created a training curriculum that
will assist you with understanding the Good Environmental Livestock
Production Practices (GELPP) standards and how they can be evaluated and
implemented at concentrated livestock production operations. In this case, the term “livestock”
includes all commercial forms of meat and egg production. The core of this training is a virtual
tour of concentrated livestock operations that presents situations that
emphasize key issues within the standards.
While each part of the virtual tour will highlight key portions of
the standards, these images may not be directly representative of all types
of concentrated livestock operations.
Where appropriate, the training is designed to address
species-specific variations. During
the training, the instructors will present guidance on interpreting and
evaluating the standards, including what physical indicators of
non-conformance might be observable.
This training is designed for producers, consultants, financial
institutions and governmental agencies.
The training is designed to be completed in one and a half
days, in a classroom. The cost of
the one and a half day classroom training is $600 per registrant. This fee covers training handouts,
including a complete set of the GELPPs and lunch.
The standards developer will also conduct on-site training for
groups of more than 25 participants.
On-site training will involve the same curriculum; however, this
training will be conducted at a time and location specified by the group
requesting the on-site training. For
an additional fee, the on-site training can be supplemented with a day of
field evaluation of the standards.

depending on advance registration.
