EROSION CONTROL AND STREAM BANK
STABILIZATION
Erosion, in of itself, is a natural
process that through time provides magnificent landscapes and productive
lands. Accelerated erosion, however,
destroys the landscape and presents a significant threat to property and
the environment. SES has the expertise for
developing erosion control systems, evaluating damages caused by erosion,
and developing the designs for stabilizing land and streams from erosive
forces.
Our approach for erosion control
begins with stormwater management, focused on minimizing runoff using
natural geomorphology and biological systems. Where runoff occurs, SES focuses on the collection of
stormwater in smaller and more manageable collection points, and dispersing
the energy associated with linear drainage into interspersed flood zones or
wetlands. Where damages have
occurred along streams, we are experienced at determining the best method
of stabilizing eroded stream banks using natural, biological systems, or,
if necessary, using armoring to protect property and life.
The basis of our erosion control and
stream bank stabilization approach is found in the application of sound
natural resource management and engineering principles. We also work with communities to
understand the impacts of stormwater, erosion, and the destruction of
watersheds, and develop programs that will protect their property.
The result, ultimately, is a better
environment, better streams, and reduced threat of property damages. Call SES at 1-800-897-1163, or 913-307-0046
to discuss how we can assist you in controlling stormwater and erosion.
