Environmental
Occupational Training Services
(SIN
899-3)
SES has developed and
conducted numerous training programs for environmental management. Our staff has coordinated training
courses in the following areas, both prior to and since SES’s inception in
1998. These courses include:
- OFAER
Site Assessor Training and Certification Program;
- AWAP
Training and Certification Program;
- Field-Based
Site Characterization Course;
- Hydric
Soils (Wetlands) Identification and Issues Training;
- Comprehensive
Nutrient Management Planning Training; and
- Hazardous
Waste Management Training
These courses are not “off the shelf” training programs;
rather, we develop specialized training designed for specific purposes at
the request of our clients.
While employed by a different company, SES staff designed and
presented three-day and one-day workshops on Field-Based Site
Characterization for the EPA’s Technology Innovation Office, including
presentation of the course in Scotland.
These workshops were given to Superfund, RCRA, and state
personnel. Other SES staff coordinated
a workshop on the identification of hydric soils, a primary aspect of
delineating wetlands and issues related to the science and regulations
pertaining to identifying wetlands by these criteria. Professionals attending the workshop were
from the United States, Canada, Japan, and Europe.
One of our most successful programs is the OFAER Site Assessor
Training and Certification Program.
From 1998 through 2002, this program trained more than 800 site
assessors who conducted environmental evaluations of livestock operations
throughout the country. The training
program was critical to the success OFAER, which was funded by the U.S. EPA
through the America’s Clean Water Foundation during SES’s involvement with
the program. Currently, SES is developing
auditor training for the Animal Welfare Audit Program (AWAP).
